We use cookies to try and give you a better experience in Freshdesk.
You can learn more about what kind of cookies we use, why, and how from our Privacy policy. If you hate cookies, or are just on a diet, you can disable them altogether too. Just note that the Freshdesk service is pretty big on some cookies (we love the choco-chip ones), and some portions of Freshdesk may not work properly if you disable cookies.
We’ll also assume you agree to the way we use cookies and are ok with it as described in our Privacy policy, unless you choose to disable them altogether through your browser.
We understand that the duplicate print copy is currently part of the system's default design. However, we would like to ask that this concern be reconsidered from the client's operational perspective.
Before migrating to the Cloud version, the client was using the FD system, where only a single Extra Charge Voucher copy was generated. One of the reasons for moving to the Cloud platform was to achieve a smoother and more efficient operation. Unfortunately, the mandatory duplicate copy printing has created an additional operational burden instead.
For every Extra Charge Voucher that is printed, the client receives both the original and duplicate copy on the same page, even when the duplicate copy is not required. This results in:
Unnecessary paper and ink consumption
Additional staff time spent cutting and separating the copies
Reduced operational efficiency, especially during peak periods when the hotel is fully booked
Increased waste for documents that serve no purpose to the client
We believe that system functionality should be flexible enough to accommodate different hotel operational requirements. While some properties may prefer having a duplicate copy printed automatically, others do not require it at all. Therefore, making the duplicate copy optional would provide greater flexibility and improve the overall user experience.
If a duplicate copy is needed, users can simply reprint the voucher when necessary. Having the duplicate copy generated by default for every transaction does not seem to be the most efficient approach for all users.
We kindly request that this be reviewed by your product and development team as a potential enhancement or configuration option in a future update. We believe this improvement would benefit not only our client but also other hotels with similar operational requirements.
