How to Change the Status of a Reservation and What Do the Statuses Mean?

Introduction

Each reservation in the system can have different statuses based on its confirmation and booking stage. Hoteliers may need to update the status to reflect the correct booking condition.


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the reservation

    • Click on the specific reservation for which you want to change the status.

  2. Edit the reservation

    • Click on Edit.

  3. Update status

    • Go to Booking Details.

    • From the Reservation Type dropdown, you can select the appropriate status.

    • Click on Save to Apply the changes.


Reservation Status Types & Meanings

  • Confirmed Booking: The reservation is confirmed, and the room is secured for the guest.

  • Hold Confirmed Booking: The booking is confirmed but placed on hold, typically awaiting further action (e.g., pending deposit, pending final confirmation).

  • Hold Unconfirmed Booking: A tentative booking held temporarily, not yet fully confirmed.

  • Online Failed Booking: A booking attempt made online but failed due to payment/technical issues.

  • Released: The reservation was previously on hold or blocked but has now been released.

  • Unconfirmed Booking Inquiry: A reservation inquiry that has not yet been confirmed by the guest or hotel.
