Understanding Reservation Statuses

Modified on Thu, 4 Sep at 12:04 AM

Introduction

Reservation statuses indicate the current stage of a booking and help hoteliers track guest movements, room availability, and operational requirements. Below are the commonly used reservation statuses and their meanings.

Reservation Statuses Explained

  • Confirmed
A booking that has been secured by the guest and confirmed by the hotel. The guest is expected to arrive on the scheduled date.

  • Checked In
The guest has arrived at the hotel and completed the check-in process.

  • Stayover
A guest is currently staying in the hotel and will remain for at least one more night (not checking out today).

  • Due Out
The guest is scheduled to check out today, according to the reservation details.

  • Checked Out
The guest has completed the stay, settled payments, and vacated the room. The room is now available for cleaning and reassignment.

✅ These statuses help front desk, housekeeping, and management teams coordinate effectively and maintain accurate room availability.
