The receipt is cutting off or showing extra spacing — How can I troubleshoot this issue in eZee Optimus?

Modified on Thu, 29 May at 12:44 PM

✅ Step 1: Check the Printer Test Page

Before making any changes in eZee Optimus, it’s important to confirm that your printer is working correctly.

  • Go to your computer’s Devices and Printers settings.

  • Right-click on the receipt printer and select Print Test Page.

  • Review the print output:

    • If the test page does not print properly, the issue is likely with your printer hardware or driver. Please check with your IT person or hardware vendor before proceeding.

    • If the test page prints fine, continue with the next steps.

✅ Step 2: Adjust Padding in the Printing Template

eZee Optimus provides an option to fine-tune the alignment of your printed content using Padding Settings at the template level.

To access this setting:

  1. Navigate to SettingsPrinting Template.

  2. Click the edit icon (✏️) for the required receipt or KOT template.

  3. In the edit window, look for the Padding section.

  4. Adjust the values:

    • If the content is shifting too much to the left, increase the Right Padding (e.g., set it to 1, 2, or 3).

    • If it is shifting to the right, increase the Left Padding accordingly.

  5. Click Edit to save the changes.

    Use Condensed Printing

You may also try enabling the Condensed Printing option in the same template settings to minimize line spacing if needed.

✅ Step 3: Update the Printer Layout

If padding adjustments do not fully resolve the issue, ensure your printer is configured to the recommended layout size of 80mm × 297mm.

To do this:

  • Open the printer preferences from your computer's printer settings.

  • Under the Paper/Document Size, select or define 80mm × 297mm.

  • Save the configuration and try printing a receipt again.

If all steps are followed correctly and the test page prints well, the receipt should now print without being cut off or showing extra spacing.

If the issue still persists, feel free to contact our Help Desk or reach out via Live Chat Support for further assistance.
