How to Change a Room’s Category in Absolute ?

In eZee Absolute, you cannot directly change the category of an existing room. To update the category, you must deactivate the existing room and create a new room under the desired category.

Follow the steps below:


 Step 1: Check Reservations Before Deactivation

Before deactivating any room, you must confirm:

  • There are no current (in-house) reservations

  • There are no future (upcoming) reservations

  • No Maintenance Block Should be there.

⚠️ Important

If there is any existing or future reservation linked to the room, the system will NOT allow you to deactivate the room.


 Step 2: Deactivate the Existing Room

  1. Go to Configuration > Room > Rooms

  2. Select the room you want to deactivate

  3. Rename the room

    • Reason: The system will not allow creating another room with the same name

    • Example:

      • Rename Deluxe 101Deluxe 101 – Old

  4. Click Save

  5. Change the status to Inactive 


Step 3: Create a New Room Under the Desired Category

Use the new category while creating the room.

Steps:

  1. Go to Configuration > Room > Rooms

  2. Click Add New

  3. Select the correct room category

  4. Enter the new room name

  5. Set additional details (floor, features, etc.)

  6. Save
